Japanese Bridge
Japanese Bridge was built in the 16th century by Japanese community and it is still incredibly well-preserved. However, the ornamentation has remained relatively faithful to the original Japanese design. More than 400 years have passed and the covered bridge has always been a good shelter for passer-by escaping from the rain and heat. On the northern side of the bridge is a Japanese pagoda to protect sailors.
Tan Ky Ancient Town
Located at 101 Nguyen Thai Hoc Road, Hoi An Town, Tan Ky Ancient House was constructed almost two centuries ago as the house of a Vietnamese merchant. It has always been lovingly preserved and now looks almost exactly as it did in the early 19th century. The design of Tan Ky House shows how local architecture incorporated Japanese and Chinese influences. Japanese elements include the crab shell-shaped ceiling supported by three beams in the living room. Chinese poems written in mother-of-pearl are hanging from a number of the columns that hold up the roof.
Phuc Kien Assembly Hall
Phuc Kien Assembly Hall (Address – 46 Tran Phu Street) is also the typical architecture in Hoi An ancient town, which was built in 1697 to worship Mazu and the gods of water, asset, children. This is also a meeting place of the Fujian living in Hoi An. Phuc Kien Assembly Hall bears all the fundamental features in structure of a Chinese Assembly Hall. Besides its architecture, nowadays its many events and activities to celebrate Chinese’s festivals make the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall a wonderful destination for visitors from both inside and outside of Vietnam.
Hoi An Market
If you wanna challenge yourself in bargaining, Hoian Market is the place you should not miss. This is one of the Vietnam’s best, offering an unmissable shopping experience. Prices tend to be more inflated at the stalls closest to the entrance so head right in for the best buys. There are a lot of choices for you about food, fruits, silks, souvenirs, ect. It has more reasonable prices than anywhere else in Hoi An.
Cam Thanh Village
Cam Thanh village is now an urban ward of Hoi An city. It is getting famous to be a new sightseeing and ecotourism village for all travelers who want to discover the rest part of Hoi An by bicycle. There are many nice traditional houses for visiting. Travelers have a chance to join these activities under guideline of local people.
